I had been going to the gym for a few months but not really seeing any results. I started personal training with George, and he looked at what I was trying to achieve and what I was currently doing. I didn't want to lose too much weight, but was more interested in increasing my strength and toning up a bit.

I have been training with George for almost 3 years now, and have changed my body in this time. I am better able to move and have more control of my body now thanks to the functional training we have done, and feel fitter and healthier than ever before!

"I joined the gym in January 2006 to help loose some weight. I managed to get close to where I wanted to be but then I hit a plateau and started to put a bit back on again. In June I watched the Race For Life and decided that I wanted to be fit enough to run it myself in 2007.

When I started personal training with George I was barely able to run for 30 seconds without becoming out of breath and having to stop. With George's encouragement I was able to complete 3 of these "intervals" on the first session and I went home feeling quite pleased with myself!

As the weeks went on we gradually increased the length of time I was running for, and George would set me homework to do before our next session. Withing 6 weeks I was up to running a kilometer non-stop, which I would never have believed I would be able to do when I first started!

I feel confident that I will be able to complete the Race For Life 5km run in June next year, and would like to have a go at training for the Reading Half Marathon in 2008!"

Before I started at the gym over a year ago I had never set foot in one before so it was all new to me! I wanted to lose a bit of weight before Christmas when I was going back to Australia to see family I hadn't seen in ages and wanted to look my best.

George wrote a program out for me to follow, and in our sessions together we had a variety of workouts such as focus pads, weight training, the rowing machine and flexibility and core training.

By the time I went back to Australia I felt fantastic, and everyone commented on how good I was looking - it made all those tough sessions worth while! When I returned from Australia I carried on personal training although my goals changed from weight loss to simply improving my strength and fitness. I continue to enjoy personal training with George as every session is different and I know I'm going to have a great workout!
