RHM07 Report
Well done to everyone who completed the Reading Half Marathon on March 25th. The weather was kind and we even saw a bit of sunshine on the course!
Warm up
Kinetic Health and Fitness once again provided the warm up before the start, and with just under 15,000 competitors taking part in the aerobic routine we think we must have set some kind of record!
The temperature was low on the start line but we lifted it up with an energising aerobic and stretch routine across 4 platforms all along the length of the start line.
I'm sure that everyone who took part in the warm up will agree that Claire, Chris, Nikki, Gareth, Caroline, George, Zoe and Shyam hit the mark and put the finishing touches to the final preparation for the race!
Pace makers
We also increased the number of pacemakers, with two or three runners at each time encouraging their fellow competitors around. The feedback we received at the end of the run was really positive and it was clear that many runners benefited from the pacemakers. Thank you to Tom and Pete who ran the 2:15 pace, Chris and Mike at 2:00, and Gavin, Paul and Paul who took the 1:45 group round. As for the last few years, George Anderson took the 1:30 group across the line.
